The Ipsos Girls' Lounge Kicks Off "Fe-'MEN'-ism" And Invites Men To Take A Seat At The Table At CES 2015
Fastest growing network of female executives brings the sisterhood to CES to #ActivateChange
LAS VEGAS, Dec. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of a national tour that included Oprah's The Life You Want Weekend and Advertising Week, The Ipsos Girls' Lounge, the go-to destination for women in marketing, media, advertising, research and technology, is hosting an after-hours party, igniting a fe-'MEN'-ism movement that enlists men to be partners in activating change for women in the workplace.
At its core, fe-'MEN'-ism is about men and women sharing the responsibility and making a difference together for corporate transformation and driving gender equality.
Founder Shelley Zalis started The Ipsos Girls' Lounge at CES two year ago with the mission of uniting women in business. Since then, more than 3,000 women from around the world have experienced The Girls' Lounge – and it has been at the forefront of the dialogue for female empowerment. The Girls' Lounge has taken a unique approach to connecting women and bridging the conversation across work, life and everything in between.
"Two years ago at CES, I never imagined that a casual girls' get-together would transform a moment into a 'corporate' movement -- but here we are -- and I couldn't be more proud or excited to bring that message back to this keystone event," Zalis said.
The Ipsos Girls' Lounge has created an authentic safe-haven for energizing self, soul and sisterhood, and this year at CES, it is dedicated to furthering the conversation on activating the changes necessary for better work / life balance and gender equality. In an effort to bring more visibility to women in tech, Megan Smith, CTO of the United States, will be sharing her inspiration for the next generation of women in technology at The Girls' Lounge.
"Megan's commitment to making technical women visible is infectious. She has inspired all of us at MAKERS to ensure that the accomplishments of women in technology are told so that their stories can be rewritten into history to inspire the leaders of tomorrow," says Dyllan McGee, Founder & Executive Producer of AOL's MAKERS, which documented and featured Smith as part of their online collection of groundbreaking women's stories.
"This is exactly what inspired the creation of this Lounge – to dispel the myth that women can't work well together and unite to implement the changes we want to see," added Zalis.
The Ipsos Girls' Lounge will focus on reinforcing and socializing messages of advocating for each other and activating change together. Key highlights of The Girls' Lounge at CES 2015 include:
