Apr 10, 2001, 01:00 ET from The LongView Group

BOSTON, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The LongView Group today announced that
Los Angeles-based TCW Group, Inc., through its investment advisor subsidiaries
including Trust Company of the West (TCW), has licensed the LongView 2000
trade order management system. LongView 2000 is the premier trade order
management solution for buy-side institutions around the globe.
After conducting an extensive search of the trade order management
marketplace, TCW selected The LongView Group and its flagship product to
support its US equity trade operations. TCW cited the product's flexible
architecture and electronic trading functionality, along with the group's long
history of successful trade order management implementations and strong client
services offerings as significant reasons for the decision. Additional product
groups will be evaluated for implementation over the coming year.
"The LongView 2000 system will provide the foundation necessary to meet
the increasing challenges of the marketplace and needs of our clients," said
Ned Moran, Managing Director of Information Services at TCW. "The key
features that we looked for included an architecture built for straight-
through processing, real-time reporting and best-in-class tax efficiency
trading for our taxable clients. To fully leverage the LongView 2000
functionality, TCW will be integrating the system with Mellon Financial
Corporation, our recently announced full-service operations and custody
support partner, to create a seamless and efficient process from order
 creation to settlement and affirmation."
TCW will take advantage of LongView 2000's open architecture and integrate
the system with a variety of other mission-critical applications through
 LongView 2000's Microsoft COM interface.
"The trade order management marketplace is very competitive and we are
thrilled to see our newest system, LongView 2000, met with great enthusiasm
from institutions like TCW," said Jack Wiener, vice president, The LongView
Group. "TCW is well suited to take full advantage of the LongView 2000 system
and I am confident that TCW will realize tremendous benefit from the system's
 flexibility and robust functionality."
LongView 2000 is the successor to the industry-leading LandMark product.
