SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Melt, a rapidly growing fast casual restaurant chain based in San Francisco, announced expansion into Colorado today, marking its first market expansion outside of The Melt's home state of California. The chain's first of five planned Colorado locations opened today at Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, Colo., with four other Metro Denver locations set to open before the end of the year. The Melt's chef-inspired menu features 100 percent all-natural, wholesome and fresh ingredients to create an expansive offering of comfort food favorites such as: premium burgers, grilled cheese, fries, mac 'n' cheese, and homemade soups along with wine and a selection of locally brewed Colorado beers. The Melt has emerged as a leader in the fast casual restaurant space, recently earning honors as one of FastCasual.com's Top 50 Brands of 2015.
Along with the Park Meadows location, The Melt plans to quickly open four additional Metro Denver locations in 2015 including:

"Since The Melt opened its first restaurant in San Francisco, we've been focused on fulfilling our founding mission of providing better food for our kids, creating jobs and delivering happiness to each and every guest," said Jonathan Kaplan, founder and CEO of The Melt.
The Melt chose Colorado as its first market outside of California because the state is at the forefront of the better-for-you food movement, a movement The Melt has supported since its founding. Colorado residents and families enjoy an active, healthy lifestyle fueled by delicious, wholesome foods without artificial ingredients. The Melt is a natural fit.
"Expansion into Colorado is a first and exciting step in The Melt's long-term plans for continued growth. We're excited to become a part of the Colorado community and look forward to welcoming Colorado guests to our restaurants," said Kaplan.
In addition to its all-natural, made-to-order menu, The Melt has also created a state-of-the-art, industry-leading online and mobile ordering system, along with a loyalty program. It also has proprietary, high-tech cooking equipment in each location. The Melt's catering "Smart Box" features uniquely designed and patented technology engineered specifically by The Melt to ensure that its catering customers receive their food hot, fresh and crispy – just like in the restaurant.
As part of The Melt's commitment to the communities it serves, The Melt proudly partners with Whole Kids Foundation, a foundation created by Whole Foods Market®, with which The Melt shares the same "banned ingredient" list. When guests at any of The Melt's locations "round up" their in-store or online orders to the nearest dollar, 100 percent of each donation goes toward funding local school grants for edible teaching gardens and fun food education for kids at area schools.
"Partnering with Whole Kids Foundation is a natural extension of our mission and values at The Melt," said Kerri Martin, vice president of marketing at The Melt. Learn more about The Melt's "Round-Up" program at www.themelt.com/round_up.
