The Rainbow Sash Movement/Gay Catholics Invites Cardinal Francis George to Join the RSM in This Year's 32 Annual Gay/Lesbian Pride Parade on Sunday, June 24

    CHICAGO, April 22 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- The Chicago
 Convenor of the Rainbow Sash Movement, Gene Janowski, has extended a formal
 invitation to Cardinal Francis George to join the Rainbow Sash Movements
 Contingent in this year's Gay Pride Parade.  The Cardinal has never visited
 our community in the light of day, and we think this would be a wonderful
 opportunity for him speak out against violence directed at the Gay Community,

 wanted, to inform him that members of the Rainbow Sash Movement will be
 joining the Cardinal as he celebrates the Eucharistic liturgy at Holy Name
 Cathedral, June 3, 2001, Penticost Sunday.  We will approach the Cardinal in
 anticipation of receiving the Eucharist, we pray the Cardinal will give the
 Eucharist to us.
     Members will be wearing Rainbow Sashes.  The Rainbow Sashes symbolize that
 we are Catholics who are Gay and Lesbian, and are bringing the gifts, the
 witness, and the challenge of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people
 into the Heart of the Church.  We call all Catholics of goodwill, whether gay
 or straight, to join us.
