Apr 13, 2001, 01:00 ET from National Association of Realtors

    WASHINGTON, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Realtors(R) Commercial Alliance
of the National Association of Realtors(R) is the Platinum Sponsor of this
year's Realcomm, the largest, most comprehensive technology, e-commerce and
business solutions conference for the commercial real estate industry.
Realcomm 2001 will be held in Dallas, June 14-15.
During 2000, NAR launched the Realtors(R) Commercial Alliance, to help
provide a framework for collective leadership in developing a common, unified
voice for the commercial real estate industry. The Alliance brings real
estate associations, international and regional firms, and Realtors(R) boards
together to create a community on behalf of those involved in consulting,
managing, providing brokerage services, appraising and auctioning of
 commercial property.
"One of the reasons we are so proud to be Realcomm's Platinum Sponsor is
because this year's event will bring the largest cross-section of participants
in the commercial real estate industry ever brought together," NAR Senior Vice
President for Commercial Real Estate Bonnie Gottlieb said. "As Platinum
Sponsor of Realcomm in 2001, the Alliance is allowed one seat on Realcomm's
Advisory Board, which will be filled by NAR President Elect Martin Edwards,
 Jr." she added.
"Our members are very excited about this opportunity to be involved in
Realcomm and look forward to the many contacts and exchanges of information
that will be made during this year's event between representatives from all
areas of the commercial real estate market, and as a result of our having a
seat on Realcomm's Advisory Board," Gottlieb said.
As the Platinum Sponsor of this year's Realcomm, the Alliance will host
the Commercial Board Summit, a forum for commercial boards to share
experiences and approaches to commercial technology issues. In addition,
information about our commercial exchanges will be featured at the Summit,
along with an update on the commercial technology initiatives that are being
undertaken by the Alliance and by NAR, Gottlieb said.
"The Summit is designed to bring numerous state and local boards of
commercial Realtors(R) and other commercial structures together to network,
gather and share information and compare notes about existing commercial
exchanges, listings and other business-related issues," Gottlieb added.
This year's Realcomm is expected to draw more than 4,000 attendees. This
year's program will include more than 50 educational sessions, 16 innovative
showcases that will demonstrate the latest technological advances in
commercial real estate, more than 150 leading vendors at the Realcomm
tradeshow, and a technology-training center. In addition, winners of the 3rd
Annual "Digie" Awards will be honored for their contributions to improve the
commercial real estate industry through the use of technology.
The Realcomm conference was founded three years ago by the Jamesan Group,
Carlsbad, Calif., and the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors(R), an NAR
 affiliate based in Washington, D.C.
In addition to the Realtors(R) Commercial Alliance and SIOR, other
Realcomm 2001 Partnering Associations include: American Institute of
Architects; American Land Title Association; Appraisal Institute; CCIM
Institute; Commercial Mortgage Securities Association; Counselors of Real
Estate; International Real Estate Federation U.S. Chapter; International
 Development Research Council; International Facility Management Association;
Institute of Real Estate Management; Mortgage Bankers Association; National
Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives; National Association of Real
 Estate Investment Trusts; National Network of Commercial Real Estate Women;
