To Buy and Print Event Tickets From Personal Computers

Apr 30, 2001, 01:00 ET from Ticketmaster

SEATTLE, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Ticketmaster (Nasdaq: TMCS), the leading
ticketing and access company, and the Seattle Mariners, today announced the
launch of Ticketmaster's new "Print My Own" technology for the Mariners. The
new "Print My Own" technology enables consumers to log-on to
www.ticketmaster.com from their home or work PC, purchase their tickets and
print a bar coded ticket for admission to any Seattle Mariners baseball games
 at SAFECO Field.
"We believe that Ticketmaster's cutting edge 'Print My Own' technology is
a perfect fit for the Seattle Mariners," said Keith Kelly, vice president of
Ticketmaster. "Our new 'Print My Own' technology is an exciting new option
for forward thinking partners, such as the Seattle Mariners, who desire to
provide their customers with the most advanced and convenient customer service
 options."
"The greatest benefit for our fans is how easy the entire 'Print My Own'
experience is. You log-on, buy your tickets, print them from your own
computer, and skip the Will Call line at the ballpark. Together, the Mariners
and Ticketmaster are moving ahead to the next level of convenience and service
for our customers," said Bob Aylward, Seattle Mariners executive vice
 president of Business Operations.
Seattle Mariners fans can select the "Print My Own" delivery option for
any upcoming home game. The "Print My Own" technology requires Adobe Acrobat
software, which can be downloaded free of charge at
 http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html. Once the bar coded
ticket is printed, it should be treated as a regular ticket. The entire page
must be presented so the unique bar code can be scanned for admission. Even
if the "Print My Own" ticket is copied, SAFECO Field's computerized admission
system will only admit one copy of the ticket.
"Print My Own" technology first became available to Mariners fans during
the previous homestand, April 16-22. Over those seven games, 5,339 "Print My
Own" tickets were scanned. Online ticket sales currently account for more
than 28 percent of all Mariners single game tickets sold. A complete
Mariners' season schedule is available at www.seattlemariners.com or
 www.ticketmaster.com.
Ticketmaster's "Print My Own" technology is currently available for events
at several leading sports arenas across the country including Staples Center
in Los Angeles, Rose Garden in Portland and America West Arena in Phoenix.
