    CANTON, Ohio, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of The
 Timken Company today declared a quarterly cash dividend of 18 cents per share.
 The dividend is payable on June 4, 2001 to shareholders of record as of May
 18, 2001.  It will be the 316th consecutive dividend paid on the common stock
 of the company.
