    CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Tidelands Oil & Gas
 Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board:   TIDE) today announced that they have signed
 engagement letters with legal counsel and an engineering firm on the Eagle
 Pass, Tx./Piedras Negras, Mexico pipeline project.
     Tidelands has engaged the services of two Washington D.C. law firms to
 handle the legal and permitting process on the Federal side of the permit,
 Reedsmith LLP. and Ross, Marsh & Foster.  In addition, Tidelands engaged the
 services of Texas counsel Hays, Johnson & Owens, L.L.P., to handle the
 permitting process on the state level.
     Tidelands has engaged the services of BNC Engineering, LLC, who has
 offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston and Midland.  BNC will handle the design of
 the actual international crossing along with the design of the pipeline system
 and interconnects.  In addition BNC will design and engineer the propane and
 butane storage facilities including loading and unloading racks for trucks.
