The "Best of the Best – Gold" was awarded to the Stadler Form Anna Heater from Swizz Style Inc., an innovative high-style ceramic heater with a special white paint that never yellows, even after being exposed to heat.
The Sleekstor Pinch+Pour Beakers from Chef'n Corporation won "Best of the Best – Silver". Made of flexible silicone that can be pinched to create a pour spout, with a sturdy nylon core to retain its shape, these beakers can handle hot liquids and are microwave safe.
Bringing in the "Best of the Best – Bronze" is Paper Bakeware from Welcome Home Brands, an innovative line of decorative oven-safe paper bakeware that makes it easy to bake, serve, store and give in one unit.
The "Green House" Design Award, part of the Housewares Design Awards, celebrates eco-responsible design for the home. This year's winner is the Fresh Air Odor-Free Kitchen Compost Collector from Full Circle. The innovative design turns kitchen scraps into organic matter to enrich the soil. Its sleek and functional design features a sealed container that allows oxygen to easily flow through kitchen waste, resulting in less mess, less odor, and no fruit flies.
Referred to as the "Oscars of home design," the Housewares Design Awards are presented by HomeWorld Business®, with sponsorship by The Gourmet Housewares Show at NYIGF®, Whitford Corporation and Gourmet Insider magazine. The product submission and judging process is managed exclusively by the International Housewares Association (IHA).
Products judged were introduced to the United States market between October 1, 2010 and September 30, 2011. No prototypes were allowed.
