TORONTO, May 30, 2012 /CNW/ - Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange yesterday hosted their first Life Sciences Finance event in Toronto in conjunction with the annual BioFinance conference.

The event was held in partnership with BIOTECanada, a national non-profit association dedicated to building the bio-economy in Canada. The event also provided an overview of the various options available for accessing public growth capital in Canada.

"We look forward to continuing to work with companies in this sector and to raising awareness about the innovative options available to them on both Exchanges."

"We are very pleased to not only have launched a successful educational event, but also a platform to facilitate introductions among some of the leading emerging life sciences companies and capital markets experts in Canada today," said Gibril Muddei, Director, Industrial Biotechnology, BIOTECanada.
