SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 24 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ --
Tripath Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRPH), creators of Digital Power Processing
(DPP(TM)) technology, announced today that its digital audio amplifiers have
been chosen to bring theater quality sound to Sony's newest flat panel wide-
screen television. Tripath's Class-T(TM) digital amplifiers efficient use of
energy versus competing analog amplifiers, has allowed Sony engineers to
create a powerful, built-in, compact audio system that delivers dynamic,
crisp, high-quality sound with 80W of total power.
The Sony TV, model: KZ-42HS500, uses the Tripath Class-T, TA-2020 digital
audio amplifier. The Class-T architecture utilizes Tripath's patented signal
processing techniques combined with a switching mode approach to generate high
fidelity sound with significantly lower heat output-ideal for compact
applications. This new system offers enhanced audio capability and uses the
TA-2020 to provide 2X15W of "full range" stereo output power to the thin
satellite speakers. Tripath's high efficiency digital amplifier minimizes the
weight and size of the audio system, allowing Sony designers to combine a new
level of high-quality, ultra-lightweight, built-in sound with one of the
 thinnest televisions ever offered.
"Sony's continued utilization of Tripath's technology is a great
testimonial for the quality of the Class T digital amplifiers," said Dr. Adya
Tripathi, president and CEO of Tripath. "Sony sets the standard for unique
entertainment products, such as the K2-42HS500, which gives digital consumers
an unprecedented viewing and listening experience. Tripath's Class-T digital
amplifiers paired with Sony's proprietary Digital Cinema Sound technology
provides consumers with a powerful theater-quality experience without
 sacrificing space or styling."
This wide-screen television is designed to give customers the thinnest and
most lightweight television in the industry. The KZ-42HS500 contains Sony's
proprietary "Real Digital System" circuit, which digitally processes images
producing a highly vivid, realistic picture. This new wide-screen television
provides the ultimate in listening and visual experience using advanced
 digital technologies.
