TRUMPF is Expanding Its Medical Technology Division With the Acquisition of Munich Medical Technology Manufacturer KREUZER

Apr 02, 2001, 01:00 ET from The TRUMPF Group

DITZINGEN, Germany, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The TRUMPF Group will apply
retroactively as of March 1, 2001 hundred-percent takeover of the KREUZER
Group. Until now the company has been owned by its founding family, who
decided for age reasons to come to a responsible arrangement with regard to
 succession.
KREUZER GmbH + Co. oHG is the world's largest specialist provider of
ceiling-mounted support systems and mobile workstation systems in the medical
sector. The main focus is on ceiling supports as carrier and supply units for
medical appliances. These are installed in operating theaters and intensive
care wards. Appliance carts conforming to the system round off the range of
products. KREUZER, founded in 1956 and located in Puchheim near Munich,
achieved sales of Euro 19 million in the year 2000 with 110 employees. The
 result was markedly positive.
For the TRUMPF Group, the acquisition of KREUZER is an important strategic
enhancement of its medical technology solutions for the operating theater
sector, as well as a basis for further growth in its medical technology
 division.
TRUMPF will keep KREUZER as an independent brand within its medical
technology division, and continue to expand it. The company's location will
remain the same, and the jobs will be preserved. This also applies to the
existing distribution and service structure. The successful product and
 quality strategy is thereby assured.
The medical technology division of the TRUMPF Group (TRUMPF Medizin
Systeme GmbH, Saalfeld and Huettinger Medizintechnik GmbH + Co. KG
Freiburg/Umkirch) employs around 340 people, including the staff at KREUZER,
and during the current fiscal year will be achieving sales of over
 Euro 50 million.
