    DURHAM, N.C., April 24 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ --
Clarkston, a consulting firm that offers business and technology solutions
to the consumer goods industry, was selected by Unilever Home and Personal
Care North America (HPC-NA) to simplify its supply chain operations.
Clarkston will help Unilever HPC-NA enhance its customer service by developing
and installing a new supply chain materials management system and implementing
a solution to connect 10 primary and many third party manufacturing sites in
its North American division on a common platform.
"This project is about simplifying our business processes," said Stephen
Cox, Vice President of Supply Chain Strategy and Integration for Unilever HPC.
"By streamlining and fully integrating our supply chain, Unilever HPC-NA will
be able to offer exceptional customer service through our people and products.
The project is the core of a well-planned strategic transformation of our
information technology systems to deliver world class capabilities."
The two-year supply chain project will eliminate multiple legacy systems
and create standard business practices that will form a seamless connection
between the plants of Unilever HPC's former North American operating
companies, Lever Brothers, Cheseborough-Ponds, and Helene Curtis and more than
40 co-packing facilities. The project will also help Unilever HPC-NA improve
 the management of working capital.
"Clarkston has helped solve business problems in the consumer goods
industry for nearly a decade," explained Jim Stefan, a Regional Managing
Partner for Clarkston. "Unilever HPC-NA wants to have a world class supply
chain to better serve its customers. Clarkston has hands-on experience with
similar consumer goods clients that will help make this a reality for Unilever
 HPC-NA."
