Union Financiere de France Deploys CA's Unicenter TNG to Enable Mobile Sales Force Management System

Premiere eBusiness Management Solution to Provide Automated Supervision and

Control of Remote Systems for Major French Bank

Apr 18, 2001, 01:00 ET from Computer Associates International, Inc.

    ISLANDIA, N.Y., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Associates
International, Inc. (CA) announced today that Union Financiere de France
(UFF), a major French financial institution specializing in consulting
activities for creation and management of wealth, is deploying CA's Unicenter
TNG to optimize support for a new eBusiness sales information management
system for its 1,200 traveling financial consultants. Fully managed by
Unicenter TNG, the always-on sales management system will enable traveling
consultants to securely and reliably access critical client account data -- as
well as UFF financial product information -- from their own portable
 computers.
As a subsidiary of CGU France, UFF offers a wide range of banking and
consulting services for private individuals and companies throughout France.
To fully support and extend business growth rates experienced over the past
few years, UFF sought to deploy a flexible eBusiness information system that
could reflect the current size and geographic diversity of the company --
allowing sales consultants to access any piece of information remotely and to
 build stronger relationships with customers.
Due to UFF's disparate and geographically dispersed network, as well as
its significant investments in its legacy systems, UFF required the deployment
of a comprehensive eBusiness management solution that promoted high system
performance and full-time availability. After considering other solutions,
UFF partnered with CA to define a centralized administration system for
maintaining and monitoring all of UFF's network resources.
After an in-depth evaluation, UFF selected Unicenter TNG because the
solution transforms UFF's information system from a product-based system to a
fully accessible information system -- enabling UFF's sales force to
immediately reap the benefits of streamlined IT resources, such as the ability
to optimize client relationships through access to critical resources. UFF
was impressed with the remarkable cost-effectiveness of Unicenter TNG, as well
as CA's overall commitment to the project.
According to top corporate executives, the automation and consistency that
Unicenter TNG promotes within UFF's revamped infrastructure will allow the
company to extend its leadership position in the financial asset management
 market.
Unicenter TNG will be installed throughout UFF's IT infrastructure to
manage and fine-tune network servers, workstations, back-end databases, email
systems and SAN backup facilities from a central location. The robust
monitoring and remote troubleshooting functionality of Unicenter TNG --
coupled with its business process-driven user interface -- will enable a small
UFF staff to efficiently handle almost any system issue before remote
 consultants are affected.
Other Unicenter TNG options provide remote software distribution and
inventory management capabilities, enabling UFF to fully understand and
consistently administer its entire inventory of laptop PCs, resulting in
 tremendous savings in overhead cost.
"UFF's eBusiness growth and ambitions required the implementation of a
progressive management platform," said Derek Masters, general manager, CA
France. "We are delighted to be working alongside UFF to define a new
internal service which will significantly strengthen client relationships for
 UFF consultants."
