US Electronics(TM)/Fobis Introduce Weemote 2(TM) Child's Remote at SCTE

Apr 19, 2001, 01:00 ET from US Electronics, Inc.

ORLANDO, Fla., (SCTE Show, May 8-11), April 19 /PRNewswire/ --
US Electronics, Inc., in partnership with Fobis Technologies, will introduce
the Weemote 2(TM), an updated version of the original Weemote(TM) child's
remote at the SCTE Show (Booth #651) in Orlando, May 8-11. In addition to
introducing and demonstrating Weemote 2 at the show, the company also intends
to use the product as a case study to showcase its unique, quick turnaround,
custom design and manufacturing capabilities to prospective product
 development partners.
US Electronics initially partnered with Fobis Technologies to take the
original Fobis Weemote idea form concept to reality in record time. This
enabled Fobis to successfully launch the Weemote at the Toy Fair in
February 2000. US Electronics helped Fobis develop the software, provided a
comprehensive device code library, and streamlined the industrial design all
the way through to completion and manufacturing. Since that time,
US Electronics has continued working with Fobis to develop an enhanced version
 called Weemote 2.
The updated Weemote 2 has all of the features of the first Weemote, and
adds additional functions such as compatible codes for TV/VCR combo units,
TiVO and Replay personal video recorders and Echostar Dishplayer devices. The
Weemote 2 includes channel support for 10 channels, and an expanded code
library to cover even more TVs and set top boxes. Additionally,
US Electronics and Fobis have equipped their new remote with a programmable
master Power function (to insure that when the TV/Cable is turned on with the
Weemote, it will default to the number one programmed favorite channel), an
additional set of five favorite channels, a volume key disable (this feature
disables the volume up and down keys on the remote) and a channel key disable
(to disable the channel up and down keys on the remote).
US Electronics will also be featuring other remote control products at the
show to support the growing demand for devices designed to operate interactive
and advanced digital TV features, such as e-mail, Internet access,
video-on-demand, and t-commerce, as well as those still under development.
Products to be featured include: The new Novari(TM) interactive platform which
will operate up to 7 devices.

US Electronics, Inc., based in Littleton, Colorado is a leading
international designer and manufacturer of high quality,
technologically-advanced remote controls and other hand-held wireless input
