Vendor Management Services, Inc. Appoints Connie Carlson Vice President of the National Service Bureau

    MINNEAPOLIS, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Vendor Management Services, Inc.
 (VMS) today announced that Connie Carlson has been appointed vice president of
 its National Service Bureau.  VMS is a wholly owned subsidiary of The First
 American Corporation (NYSE:   FAF).
     Carlson manages a staff of more than 100 people at the National Service
 Bureau in Bloomington, Minn.  She is responsible for the growth and
 development of the call center that services all VMS national clients and
 processes from 40,000 to 50,000 orders per month for appraisal, title, credit
 and flood products.
     Carlson, who served as operations manager of the National Service Bureau
 under RES-Direct, then a joint venture between The First American Corporation
 and Wells Fargo & Co., has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage
 banking industry.  Previously, she was operations center manager for Value IT,
 a real estate appraisal service.
     Carlson is a graduate of the University of Minnesota's Management
 Development Program and a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association.  She
 lives with her husband, Leigh, in Minneapolis.
