Vendor Management Services, Inc. Appoints Michael Fosser Vice President of Strategic Alliances

    MINNEAPOLIS, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Vendor Management Services, Inc.
 (VMS) today announced that Michael Fosser has been appointed vice president of
 strategic alliances.  VMS is a wholly owned subsidiary of The First American
 Corporation (NYSE:   FAF).
     Fosser will be responsible for the development and management of a
 national network of "best-in-breed" vendors to serve VMS clients, which
 include national lenders and mortgage and real estate brokers.  Fosser came to
 VMS in August 2000 with over 20 years of experience in the real estate,
 mortgage and corporate relocation industries.  He specializes in managing
 service-provider networks and building value-added networks.
     Prior to joining VMS, Fosser was senior vice president of home services
 for HomeSpace, Inc. in Denver.  He is a certified relocation professional,
 real estate appraiser, environmental inspector and mortgage banker.  He is a
 member of the Employee Relocation Council, the National Association of
 Realtors and the Mortgage Bankers Association.
     Fosser received a bachelor's degree from Elgin College in Illinois and is
 a graduate of the Oklahoma University School of Consumer Lending.  He lives in
 Highlands Ranch, Colo., with his wife, Barbara, and two children.
