VH1's Bands on the Run Heads to Pittsburgh on Sunday, April 29, at 10:00 PM

Apr 23, 2001, 01:00 ET from VH1

NEW YORK, April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- In Pittsburgh,
a wild-card situation waits the bands: Two groups will share the bill at two
different venues, forcing (perhaps) a cooperative spirit. If only for a
couple days ... Thus, Soulcracker and Josh Dodes Band find themselves fusing
their earnest work ethic to try and pack their show, while unlikely promotion
partners Harlow and Flickerstick try to overcome their egos and make the
temporary alliance work to their advantage as well.
Flickerstick heads straight for the hotel bar as usual, only this time
their slatternly socializing tendencies are rewarded when they land a
last-minute gig as an auto-parts industry convention -- where the
conventioneers actually line up to buy a carton full of their CDs! Meanwhile,
Josh Dodes Band muscles in on a hapless hotel lounge band, playing a couple
songs and hawking their merchandise, and use a Yale alumni connection to score
an attention-getting al fresco performance. Soulcracker does their thing with
acoustic sets at a pair of packed clubs. And Harlow decides to target their
marketing to men by engaging passers-by in the city's Strip District.
A sudsy special challenge is issued that will net the winners a gig
outside Three Rivers Stadium before the kickoff of the Steelers-Eagles game.
Tensions flare up as all four bands become increasingly serious about winning
the competition. And well they might -- the next city after Pittsburgh will
be the end of the road for one of them.
