VMware Strengthens Management Team With New CFO and Vice Presidents of Marketing and Professional Services

 announced today that three new executives have joined the company in key
 management positions.  Mike Everett is the company's new Chief Financial
 Officer, Bill Rudiak assumes the newly created position of Vice President,
 Professional Services, and Susan Thomas is the new Vice President of
 Marketing.
     "Today, VMware is making a series of announcements about products that are
 designed to meet the needs of service providers and enterprise IT groups that
 manage complex Internet computing infrastructures," said Diane Greene,
 co-founder, president and chief executive officer of VMware.  "For VMware,

 three experienced and accomplished executives are great additions to the team

     Mike Everett, 51, joins VMware from Netro Corporation where he was
 executive vice president and chief financial officer.  While at Netro, Everett
 completed successful IPO and secondary public offerings, as well as several
 private financing rounds, and negotiated numerous strategic alliances and
 manufacturing partnerships.  Previously, he spent nine years at Raychem
 Corporation as chief financial officer and more recently as Asian general
 manager.  Everett has a JD degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law
 School and a BA from Dartmouth College.
     Bill Rudiak, 42, comes to VMware with 15 years experience in IT
 consulting, including applications development, networking and systems
 management.  Prior to joining VMware, he was senior vice president, Western
 region, of Xpedior, a developer of custom eBusiness solutions for the Global
 2000 and emerging digital businesses.  He has also held positions in
 consulting practice management and professional services for IBM Global
 Services, MCI Systemhouse and DMR Consulting.  Rudiak has a Bachelor of Music
 degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada.
     Susan Thomas, 44, has more than 20 years experience in marketing and
 communications management, most recently as a partner and director of
 Ketchum's global technology practice.  Previously, she started her own public
 relations firm in Silicon Valley, which was acquired by Ketchum in 1997.
 Thomas has also served as director of marketing for a software company, as a
 market analyst at high technology market research firm, Dataquest, and as a
 reporter covering technology and banking & finance for a business newspaper.
 Thomas has an AB degree in English and film studies from Occidental College in
 Los Angeles.
