WASHINGTON, May 1, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Washington Homeland Security Roundtable (WHSR) today announced the creation of the USBP/CBP/WHSR Industry Academy 2015. The Industry Academy is a one year program designed to strengthen industry collaboration and knowledge of the Border Security mission.
CBP Commissioner Gil Kerlikowski and USBP Chief Michael Fisher will address the initial meeting of the Academy on Tuesday, June 10. Following this dialogue, USBP senior leadership will participate in several discussions over the three day period focusing on strategically important efforts, tentatively including: Geospatial Intelligence, Biometrics/DoD Re-Use/SPPA Mission, Budget, Corridor Operations, Information Technology, Operational Requirements, Readiness, Enforcement Technology, Measures and Planning, Special Operations/Mobility, Liaison, Intelligence, Manpower Requirements Determination and Foreign Operations.

Following the Kickoff at USBP HQ in Washington, DC, the additional programs for the Inaugural Class of Industry Executives will include a Northern Border Tour of the Buffalo, NY and Blaine, WA Sectors; a Southwest Border Tour of the San Diego, CA and Rio Grande Valley, TX Sectors; and concluding with three days of training and graduation ceremony with Chief Fisher at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, NM.

The one year program is limited to 50 Senior Executives and offered on a first come, first serve basis to both WHSR members and non-members. Fees for participants will be limited to actual program and travel costs.
