Wave Technologies, Hitachi Data Systems Team Up for Windows 2000 Training

Wave to Deliver Boot Camp, Instructor-Led, Computer-Based, Self-Led and Web-

Based Training

Apr 20, 2001, 01:00 ET from Wave Technologies

ST. LOUIS, April 20 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- Wave
Technologies, a Thomson Learning company, today announced it has partnered
with Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) to provide Windows 2000 MCSE training to HDS
network administrators. Under terms of the agreement, Wave, a global leader
in courseware development and training for the IT industry, will provide HDS
with access to all of its Windows 2000 MCSE training solutions.
"Wave is known for using a unique and effective training methodology that
assesses skill levels to provide targeted and relevant training," said Stan
Gelber, director of global education at HDS. "This methodology coupled with
such a broad range of training options assures that our network professionals
will receive first-class Windows 2000 training that satisfies their learning
 preferences."
Wave's Windows 2000 MCSE solutions include six skill-building instructor-
led courses; 54 CBT courses; self-paced training with a multiple media Windows
2000 MCSE Resource Kit; Internet-delivered training that enriches self-paced
training with additional online tools and services; and boot camp programs for
accelerated training. The company's boot camps prepare students for Windows
2000 MCSE certification with intense hands-on training preceded by weeks of
self-study. Students may choose a 15-day boot camp that tracks to the regular
MCSE certification track or a 10-day boot camp that tracks to Microsoft's
 Accelerated Exam upgrade track.
As part of the agreement, Wave has created a customized Internet portal
through which HDS professionals worldwide may enroll for training. Wave
provides individuals with a targeted training plan that accommodates any
skills set and learning preference through a process that begins with student
profiling and assessment testing, which are administered through the portal.
This process delineates the most effective training method(s) for each
individual. Individuals then choose the Windows 2000 training solution or
combination of solutions that will work best for them.
"Though HDS is a key Microsoft partner, Wave will deliver a comprehensive
and fully integrated Windows 2000 program to all Hitachi staff worldwide,"
said Susan Wisner, vice president of distribution and development and
enterprise training solutions at Wave Technologies. "Wave has proven
experience in developing and delivering industry-leading course materials and
training that successfully meets individual learning needs, thereby fulfilling
a company's training objectives. Our Windows 2000 curriculum is no exception.
With the breadth of solutions Wave has to offer for MCSE training and
certification, we look forward to preparing all HDS administrators thoroughly
 and effectively."
