NEW YORK, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- March and April have proven to be quite
rewarding for Universal Records' recording artist Bob Schneider. In 2000,
Schneider swept the Austin Music Awards with nine trophies. In March 2001, he
surpassed the mark with an unprecedented 10 awards (the most by a single
artist in the Awards' history). On March 13, Schneider celebrated the
nationwide Universal release of his CD Lonelyland.
In April, Schneider became the top-selling artist in the history of
Waterloo Records, Austin's famed music store. He taped a concert for the
acclaimed original music series Austin City Limits, to be broadcast nationally
in May. Schneider also embarked on his first tour as a solo artist in support
 of Lonelyland, opening for Train.
To top it off, Bob Schneider's Lonelyland has been embraced by the press.
Here's what some have had to say thus far:

" ... Schneider has emerged as a genuine songwriting talent."
     - Entertainment Weekly

"Lonelyland plays like a CD changer loaded with Tom Waits, Prince, Sting,
David Byrne and Beck, in 'shuffle' mode." - Rolling Stone.com

"This easygoing Texas-based alterna-rocker draws on country, pop, rock,
blues, and even a touch of Austin rap to create a sound as broad as the
Southwest ... His wordplay recalls Randy Newman's on such tracks as the
bluesy 'Big Blue Sea,' the country rap 'Bullets' and the well-crafted 'The
World Exploded Into Love.'" - People Magazine

" ... a stunning, diverse record full of sublime tunes that don't go away
quickly ... Lonelyland is not a typical singer/songwriter effort. Rather
Schneider allows his muse ample wandering space across a vast typography
     of melodic terrain." - CMJ

"This shaggy, bashful local legend from Austin, Texas, released one of the
     year's strongest debuts ... Bob Schneider's not a one-trick pony."
     - Mademoiselle

"[Lonelyland] features Mr. Schneider's soulful vocals and smart pop
     craftsmanship. - Dallas Morning News
