BOULDER, Colo., June 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HelpGizmo, formerly a part of Widgix, LLC, will be spun off into its own business beginning this week.
The knowledge base software has been a part of the Widgix family for two years and has built up a strong base of its own clients. So when the Widgix executive team gave Product Manager Marybeth Alexander and Developer Pete Grigg the option to buy HelpGizmo, the two jumped on it.
"This is an amazing opportunity for Pete and I," said Alexander, now the Chief Executive Owl. "We get to keep working with our amazing customers and become an independent company. We're so grateful to Widgix for getting us started and letting us run with this stellar product."
HelpGizmo will transition away from the "Gizmo" brand and into its new identity as KnowledgeOwl starting this week.
Existing customers, which now include former sister company SurveyGizmo, will experience no interruption in their knowledge base functionality according to Alexander.
KnowledgeOwl, like HelpGizmo, allows users to create their own customized repositories of documentation, human resource data, or FAQs. Alexander and Griggs say that they plan to maintain the focus on great software and great service that HelpGizmo established while part of Widgix.
Meanwhile the HelpGizmo name, "is going back into the vault for a while," said Widgix CEO Christian Vanek. "We've been listening carefully to what our customers need, and we have exciting plans to meet those needs with new powerful, affordable software."
