announced an agreement by which Wink interactive television enhancements will
be added to both short-form and long-form advertisements for its Hooked on

"In addition to the adding a call-to-action, Wink's detailed media
analysis and reporting suite allows us to fine-tune and refine our existing
creative materials and media buys," said Donna Rude, Executive Director of
Media, Hooked on Phonics. "With this service we will have the ability to
track where and when our Hooked on Phonics ads have been aired and to
time-stamp our phone order and click rate information to see what messages and
creatives drive the most activity. This level of insight is key for an
 efficient marketing campaign."
Wink's enhanced television technology gives viewers a free and convenient
way to interact with programs and advertisements while they continue to watch
TV -- without requiring a dial up connection. With a simple click of the
remote control, viewers can request more information such as product videos,
samples, coupons and other free offers from advertisers or make purchases
 instantly.
"The Hooked on Phonics enhancement allows Wink to expand the Direct
Response television category and provide new, value-added services to both
advertisers and viewers," said Steve Carmassi, Vice President of Advertising,
Wink. "We are giving Hooked on Phonics an effective method of connecting with
parents and educators to relay information about their educational material.
A busy parent may not have had the time to write down a phone number or look
for their credit card in the past -- now all they have to do is press a button
 on their remote control."
