WorldChain Opens New Headquarters in Fremont, California; Expanded Facilities Meet Growth Needs of Leader in Supply Chain Network Solutions

Apr 02, 2001, 01:00 ET from WorldChain, Inc.

FREMONT, Calif., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- WorldChain, Inc., the only
company that delivers perfect order execution across multi-company supply
chains, today announced the opening of the Company's new headquarters at
39141 Civic Center Drive in Fremont, California. WorldChain was previously
headquartered in Santa Clara, California, where it continues to maintain a
 technology center.
"WorldChain is helping companies manage their supply chain networks and
realize a 5X return on investment within one year," said Larry Miller,
co-founder, president and COO of WorldChain. Mr. Miller added, "The early
success of our network application software meant that we needed to
significantly increase our office space to address the needs of a growing
 customer base and workforce."
A key factor in WorldChain's choice of Fremont was the city's hub-like
location between Silicon Valley and San Francisco and its ability to be
accessed by car or by the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) rail system. The
Fremont Chamber of Commerce further notes that "the spirit of the entrepreneur
is aflame in the region, and four of fifteen awards given to Silicon Valley
entrepreneurs last year were awarded to CEO's of Fremont-based companies."
"Fremont offered WorldChain the advantages of a metropolitan location
along with the expansion capabilities typically associated with further
removed locations. This flexibility will enable us to serve our customers
more efficiently and productively and to continue to attract the best
employees, wherever they may live," commented Peter Osborne, WorldChain's
 Chief Financial Officer.
The Company's secure and scalable web-based solution provides automated
transaction coordination, real-time data visibility and exception handling at
each process step across multi-company supply chain networks. WorldChain is
improving operations and delivering significant ROI for companies such as
Network Appliance by reducing necessary inventory, increasing on-time delivery
 and heightening customer service productivity.
WorldChain recently announced the naming of David Allen, former Vice
President of Worldwide Operations at Dell, as CEO. The Company also completed
a $32 million second round of funding led by Thomas Weisel Capital Partners.
