Convenient, Same-Day Mortgage Loan Approvals to be Available at All Nevada

State Bank Branches

Apr 17, 2001, 01:00 ET from Zions Bancorporation

SALT LAKE CITY, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Zions Bancorporation ("Zions")
(Nasdaq: ZION) announced today that it plans to expand its partnership with
MoneyLine Technologies ("MoneyLine") to provide clients with same-day mortgage
loan credit approvals at the company's 60 branch offices in Nevada.
Within the next 30 days, each branch of Zions' subsidiary Nevada State
Bank will have access to MoneyLine's Nevada State Bank Home Loans Program,
which allows branch employees to submit and track mortgage loan applications
electronically, and provides clients with easier access to information on the
 status of their mortgage.
"Through this partnership with MoneyLine we expect to reduce loan credit
approval turnaround from days to hours and reduce mortgage processing time
from weeks to days," said Richard Veitz, executive vice president and senior
community banking officer of Nevada State Bank. "Our aim is to provide our
clients with the option of interacting with the bank in whatever way is most
 convenient for them."
Zions' subsidiary Zions First National Bank ("Zions Bank") launched the
MoneyLine e-mortgage program at its more than 140 branches in Utah and Idaho
in October of last year. The number of in-branch mortgage loan applications
at Zions Bank has jumped from an average of approximately 200 per month prior
to the implementation of the MoneyLine system to nearly 600 in March. In
total, nearly 1,400 mortgage loan applications, with approximately $25 million
in closed loan volume, were completed through the MoneyLine system at Zions
Bank during the six-month period ended March 31, 2001.
"We have been impressed with the success of the MoneyLine system," said
Tee Tyler, manager of Zions Bank's mortgage department. "We have been
particularly pleased that the majority of the business MoneyLine has helped
bring to Zions Bank has been business that we were not getting before. We
have a number of branches in rural communities, such as Weiser, Idaho and
Moab, Utah, and MoneyLine has allowed us to provide previously unavailable
mortgage origination capabilities at these rural branches and generate
 significant new business."
In addition to improving the turnaround time on loan approvals and
mortgage processing, the MoneyLine system increases clients' accessibility to
mortgage loan information. On the banks' Web sites -- www.nsbank.com, and
www.zionsbank.com -- customers can view real-time mortgage rates, calculate
mortgage payments and amortization schedules, and track their loan 24 hours a
day, seven days a week. Customers can also contact a loan advisor on the
 telephone from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. until
3 p.m. on Saturday. And customers can always meet personally with their local
banker at the nearest branch office to obtain information regarding their
 loan.
"We want to provide as much information to our customers as possible to
make the process of obtaining a mortgage as easy and as understandable as we
can," said Veitz. "With MoneyLine the application and approval process is
quick and hassle free, and will truly provide our clients with a better way to
 bank."
Evan Gentry, president of MoneyLine said, "We are pleased that we can
expand this business-to-business solution to Zions' affiliates, allowing them
to provide in-branch and at-home mortgage loan service to their clients
without the risk of variable revenue mortgage cycles."

Nevada State Bank will continue certain direct mortgage lending
relationships as currently provided for selected clients, such as the bank's
builder and realtor customers and their clients.

MoneyLine Technologies, a division of MoneyLine Lending Company, Inc., is
a leading provider of technology-based mortgage origination and fulfillment
services. MoneyLine provides financial institutions with private-labeled
solutions through deployment of real-time, automated, and highly interactive
software and execution services. The solutions strengthen relationships
between financial institutions and their customers through personalized
interaction and multiple origination channels, including the Internet,
 telephone and retail branches.
