The preliminary rounds of the season 2015 season were started off across Hyatt Hotels in Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Mumbai. The preliminary rounds were a runaway success with senior representatives from the corporate world coming together with enthusiastic young partners from the SMILE Foundation NGO to create culinary masterpieces. The winners from each of these 10 cities participated in the Grand Finale at Grand Hyatt Mumbai on Sunday, November 15th 2015.
Not only was the 'people cooking for people' challenge a unique event which was held simultaneously in several cities from 31st October, it was also followed by a 'Digital Culinary Challenge' conducted on a digital platform from 15th October onwards, with entries invited from across the country. This has resulted in substantial social media chatter under hashtag #CookWithHyatt. All 10 participants were paired with a young chef from SMILE foundation, and worked together to prepare a recipe of their choice for the judges.
Speaking on the occasion, Harleen Mehta, VP, Sales Operations, Hyatt South Asia, said, "The Hyatt Culinary Challenge is an endeavour to bring together people to celebrate their passion for food and make a difference to the community while doing so. We are delighted with the overwhelming response from the participants both offline and online, and look forward to conducting more such events over the years."
