Blink Fitness Accelerates National Expansion Initiative
Set to continue growth through three new franchise development agreements
NEW YORK, Sept. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Blink Fitness – a premium-quality, value-based fitness brand that focuses on how exercise makes you feel rather than exclusively on how it makes you look – has officially announced the signing of three development agreements. The signings are for 18 gyms throughout major U.S. metropolitan areas. These market entries include the concept's first locations in Massachusetts and Virginia. This announcement comes on the heels of the brand's entry into Pennsylvania in June and their upcoming launch in California.
"We've been focused on finding franchisees who share our passion for delivering a high-quality proposition at a low price. We have definitely found that with these new development agreements," said Patricia Perry, Vice President of Franchise Development for Blink.
Details on the agreements are as follows:
- New York/New Jersey: Five gyms across the New York metro area, with the first slated to open in late 2018
- Massachusetts: Three gyms across the Boston metro area, with the first slated to open early 2018
- Virginia: Ten gyms in various markets from Richmond to Hampton Roads, with the first slated to open early 2018
"We are fortunate to have had overwhelming interest in our fast-growing brand," added Todd Magazine, President of Blink Fitness. "We couldn't be more thrilled to be bringing Blink's differentiated concept to these new markets."
Blink offers a truly unique experience to its members, based on a company philosophy of Mood Above Muscle™, which celebrates the positive feelings you get from exercise rather than just the physical benefits. Their Feel Good Experience® comes to life in each gym through a commitment to providing modern and colorful design, elevated customer service, relentless focus on cleanliness, energizing music and confidence-boosting training programs – all while offering memberships at a low cost (starting at just $15 per month).
Since launching the brand in 2011, Blink has opened nearly 60 corporate locations serving over 300,000 members throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. According to Magazine, Blink will have approximately 70 locations open and operating by the end of the year, including the brand's first locations in California. He also expects Blink to surpass the 300-unit mark over the next five years.
Including a franchise fee of $10,000-$40,000, the initial investment to open a Blink Fitness franchise is $637,000-$2,100,000. The average gym utilizes about 12,000-18,000 square feet, and retains approximately 11 full- and part-time employees.
