Frost & Sullivan Hails Globe as Philippine Telecom and Broadband Service Provider of the Year
MANILA, Philippines, Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Globe Telecom achieved another rare feat by winning both the 2012 Frost & Sullivan Philippine Telecom Service Provider of the Year and 2012 Frost & Sullivan Philippine Broadband Service Provider of the Year awards from global business research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan.

The Frost & Sullivan Awards are presented each year to the companies which exhibit excellence in Growth Strategy and Implementation, Degree of Innovation with New Products and Technologies, Leadership in Customer Value and Market Penetration in their respective industries.

For the first half of 2012, Globe delivered another record performance with consolidated gross service revenues of P40.8 billion, 6% higher than last year's level of P38.4 billion. Mobile subscribers stood at 31.7 million as of end-June, up 12% from the same period in 2011.
On the other hand, Chan said that Globe Broadband performed exceedingly well in 2011, outperforming the market average. The Philippine Broadband of the Year award is a back-to-back achievement for Globe Broadband after also receiving the said recognition last year.

Globe broadband revenues, in the first half of 2012, were up 13% year-on-year to P4.1 billion driven by a 22% growth in subscriber base from 1.3 million in the same period last year to 1.6 million.
From 2007 to 2011, Globe broadband service has grown by an average of 99% per year in subscriber base and 84% per year in service revenues.
