The project will reveal the final versions of the EcoScope Platform and Toolbox aimed at making ecosystem-based management more operational and actionable.

ATHENS, Greece, June 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The EU-funded EcoScope Project, will hold its Final General Assembly on 23-26 June 2025 in Athens, Greece, bringing together partners and stakeholders from across Europe to mark the conclusion of a four-year effort to support sustainable, ecosystem-based fisheries management (EBFM) in European seas.

During the event, the final versions will be presented of the project's flagship outputs: the EcoScope Platform and the EcoScope Toolbox.

These tools are designed to address critical gaps in knowledge, data integration, and accessibility, enabling science-based decision-making for the health and productivity of marine ecosystems.

The EcoScope Platform is a web-based, open-access system that offers an intuitive interface for exploring geospatial, ecological, environmental, and fisheries-related data. Users can access and visualize large volumes of data through interactive dashboards, facilitating cross-sectoral understanding of marine systems and helping stakeholders track the status and trends of key indicators.

The EcoScope Toolbox offers a series of advanced modelling and forecasting indicators and assessment tools tailored for ecocentric fisheries management while incorporating climate change and environmental drivers. These include fisheries, ecosystem and socio-economic models, risk and sustainability assessments, and scenario simulations.

Both tools were designed to be interoperable and user-friendly, supporting diverse management needs and enhancing transparency in policy evaluation.

The assembly will bring together the project's twenty-four partners from Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East, for a series of presentations, workshops, and strategy sessions focused on ensuring long-term impact and uptake of the project's results.

"The EcoScope project has successfully met its objectives, creating innovative tools that bring science closer to policy," said EcoScop's Coordinator Professor Athanassios Tsikliras. "The platform and toolbox will support effective, ecosystem-based fisheries management across Europe for years to come."

EcoScope is committed to making ecosystem-based management more operational and actionable across Europe's marine regions. Its platform and toolbox aim to empower decision-makers with science-based insights that are both accessible and scalable.

About EcoScope
