Edgybees Wins Its Largest Contract to Date From AFWERX to Enhance US Air Force Situational Awareness
Visual intelligence technology company's augmented reality-enabled software platform to be integrated into current USAF technology
WASHINGTON, March 17, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Edgybees, the leading provider of collaborative visual intelligence technology, announced that it has been awarded its largest contract yet by AFWERX, an innovation program within the US Air Force. The contract will see Edgybees' innovative computer vision technology, in the form of its augmented reality (AR) software solution Argus, integrated with the US Air Force's systems to bolster situational awareness in complex operational scenarios.
Edgybees is one of 21 small businesses slated to receive four-year, fixed contracts with the combined worth of $550+ million through AFVentures' Strategic Financing (STRATFI) program, including more than $100 million in Air Force funding, over $100 million in SBIR funds, and more than $350 million in private investment.
Today's contract follows a round of contracts awarded to Edgybees by AFWERX at the end of last year, including the Phase 2-SBIR , (Small Business Innovation Research) contract, a competitive awards-based program that enables small businesses to explore their technological potential within the defense sector and beyond.
