R2 Expands into the US - Launches US Operations and Appoints Cordell Bennigson as US CEO

AUSTIN, Texas, May 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Addressing the growing threats and rapid advancements in Electronic Warfare and Counter-UAS programs, R2 announced today the launch of its US-based company and the appointment of Mr. Cordell Bennigson as its US CEO.

This strategic move follows rising global demand, particularly in the US, for the company's pioneering technology, which specializes in real-time radio frequency (RF) signal detection and geolocation.  This capability has become increasingly relevant in recent years with the accelerated use of wireless communication-based threats, such as drones, electronic warfare, and RF cyber, both on and off the battlefield.

Bennigson, a retired US Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier pilot and Forward Air Controller, served in combat and achieved the rank of Major. He brings over 25 years of senior leadership experience in diverse roles across public and private companies, startups, nonprofits, and the military. His expertise includes leading US-based organizations through complex transformations, scale-ups, and successful acquisitions. Bennigson previously served as CEO of multiple private equity-backed engineering and manufacturing companies, as well as in the defense sector, selling directly to the US Department of Defense (DoD).

Additionally, Bennigson is a founding board member of the Austin Regional Manufacturers Association, a board member of the Taylor Economic Development Corporation, and a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).

He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He also completed executive education at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

In his new role as CEO of R2 US, Bennigson will lead the company's growth in the US federal market, leveraging his extensive experience with the DoD and his deep knowledge and expertise in defense-focused technology.
