The 2nd Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2018 commenced its national and international activities with new energy to create a wonderful position for the festival in the international market.

The curtain raiser of the festival was hosted a week ago when 54 delegates from 24 countries of the world participated in a Global Summit on 'Skill Development in Fashion and Design Industry' in association with Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
"We are different from other fashion weeks, as we have added a very important segment of design to the fashion week. Design is a wider term and it includes garments, furniture, jewellery, interior designing, cars, buildings, etc. and has now become an integral part of every industry on earth," introduced Sandeep Marwah, President of 2nd GFDWN-2018.
President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anil Khaitan along with former Haryana Minister Krishna Murti Hooda, International Marketing Manager at The Handicrafts and Handlooms Exports corporation of India Limited K.C.Shakdwepee, Jewellery Designer Abhishek Tiwari, Film personality Pradeep Kukerja, renowned architect Aashish Sharma and Mrs India Universe-Style Icon Babita Choudhury, inaugurated the first session.
Every one expressed their concept of fashion and design and shared their experience related to the industry. Later Sandeep Marwah presented all the delegates with memento of the 2nd GFDWN 2018; Ritu Lal, Festival Director, offered the vote of thanks. The formal function was followed by a grand fashion show by the students of AAFT School of Fashion And Design.
The 3-day fashion and design week showcased painting, furniture and jewellery exhibitions, workshops, seminars, interactions, screening of films, fashion shows and entertainment programs. Delegates from all over India and abroad registered for the shows. 160 designers participated with around 700 garments being presented in nine major shows in 63 segments.
The Festival Director Ritu Lal said, "We are very keen in developing and promoting young talent of this country. Many new designers have taken keen interest in the show." ICMEI - International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry - supported the event in association with AAFT School of Fashion And Design.
