3M, the global innovation company long recognized for diversified technology and innovation, announced the opening of a new 3M Design Center in India, another hub next to Milan, Tokyo and the design headquarters in St. Paul Minnesota, to accelerate the growth of design across the global enterprise. Aligned with 3M Design's mission around collaborative creativity, this uniquely designed studio will house a team of designers with diverse creative backgrounds for engagement with partners in business, academia and customers.

This new design center, located at the 3M R&D Centre in Bangalore, India, is inspired by local and global culture influencing the design experience of the space using several 3M technologies, such as DI-NOC and Fasara architectural films. The open character of the design space and proximity to the labs will stimulate spontaneous collaboration and early design involvement for increased strategic partnership and customer engagement.

The opening of 3M Design India studio will be followed by the first edition of the 3M Design India Summit. This event will bring together design leaders across the country to network and share ideas to foster learning, inspiration and provoke conversations about design, including a panel of dynamic design thought-leaders from different design domains, industry backgrounds and academia, enabling interaction and conversation.
