MoU's worth over Rs 2 lakh crores have been signed during the 3-day India Integrated Logistics and Transport 2017 summit, held under the aegis of MoRTH from 3rd to 5th May 2017 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Ministers heading key Ministries, Secretaries and Senior GOI officials, Heads of leading PSUs and CMD's of leading corporates and leading shipping and logistics organizations participated in this summit that brought all stake holders on to one platform.

Agarwal Packers and Movers Ltd.(APML) has also signed MOU for setting up of multi-modal integrated logistics parks and suggested 4 logistics gateways i.e. Dudhu (Rajasthan) for North, Jamshedpur for East, Malegoan (Maharashtra) for West and Hosur (TN) for South. APML also suggested Malkapur in Maharashtra situated centrally that can be created into a National distribution hub. All these locations with integrated multi-modal parks will become pivot for all transportation and supply chain activities.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has initiated project called LEEP for logistics efficiency enhancement which has identified four key themes to improve the state of logistics in India and will change logistics landscape of India. These are freight corridor upgradation, logistics park development, seamless interstate movement and electronic toll collection systems.
MoRTH plans to develop 35 Multi-modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) in India which will cater to 50% of the freight movement, enable -10% reductions in transportation costs and -12% reductions in C02 emissions. Land parcels have been identified and pre-feasibility studies initiated on six of these locations.
