MUMBAI, December 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
Association of National Exchanges Members of India (ANMI), the leading pan-India body of around 900 stock brokers, will organize its 10th International Convention on Capital Markets on January 12th, 2019.
Based on the theme of 'Capital Markets in the Age of Disruption', this year's convention by ANMI will provide a global interactive forum for capital market representatives from India and across the world to deliberate on the changes that are occurring in the capital markets. The speakers at the ANMI's 10th Convention will comprise of a cross-section of experts from Ministry of Finance, Regulator, Exchanges, Technology Providers, Thinkers, Leading Market Participants and Industry Leaders from across the world.
Elaborating on the objectives of the forum, Mr. Naresh Tejwani, Convener of the ANMI Convention said: "From the days of 'Open Outcry System' to completely electronic trading processes, our capital markets have come a long way and most of this evolution has been led by Technology. Penetration of Internet, smart phones and advent of many other artificial intelligence enabled software and hardware is bringing about a new wave of disruption in the industry. Further, evolution of e-commerce, payment and settlement systems and opening up of international borders for business have changed the dynamics for market participants as well. In this fast, changing world, this convention by ANMI will provide a well-rounded forum for all stakeholders of the industry to discuss the new opportunities and new challenges that await the future of the Capital Markets."
Mr. Rajesh Baheti of ANMI President added: "The broking industry is always the first and one that has been the most affected when it comes to technology disruptions. Hence, it is only just for a brokers' forum like ANMI to initiate discussions around what is in store for us in the future amidst the fast changing regulatory and regulatory landscape of India's Capital Markets."
The panel discussions at the 10th International Convention of ANMI will centre around four broad topics. The first panel will be centred around the topic 'Regulatory Challenges, Responses and Adaptation (Global and Indian Perspective)', will discuss if the industry, market participants and the Regulators are on the same page as far as market practices and business evolution amidst the swift regulatory changes in India's Capital Markets.
The topic of the second panel discussion will be 'Surviving to Thriving - Reshaping the Broking Business'. The discussions of this panel will focus on how capital market intermediaries, viz. the brokers, can stay in the game in the face of technology disruptions.
The third panel on 'March Of The Machine -Humans Outdate…?', will closely look at the evolving technologies in the Capital Markets industry that are threatening to erase the human interface - be it in execution or an advisory role and whether complete digital takeover is possible and would make sense.
'The New Investment Workbook For Disruptive Times' will be the topic of the fourth and the concluding panel at the ANMI's 10th Capital Markets Convention. The experts in this panel will analyse the ramifications and consequences of disruptions on investment scenario and how participants can be better prepared to identify, handle, sustain as well as gain in disruptive markets.
The ANMI 10th International Convention will be held on January 12th, 2018 at Mumbai's Grand Hyatt, in Vakola, Santacruz East from 11 am to 7pm.
