There were fun-filled activities, as well as grooming sessions which revolved around pet adoption to engage the furry friends and their parents.

"We Indians are very attached to our pets and consider them as a part of our family. People are increasingly aware of the hardships that animals face and are involved in creating a better place for pets to live in, by engaging in initiatives to help abandoned pets find permanent homes. Himalaya is leading the in encouraging pet adoption.  We have been consistently partnering with CUPA to create awareness around the sama through our ''Build a Bond'' intiative.  In the coming years, we are hopeful of partnering with organizations across India and paving the way for a more positive movement towards  pet adoption," says Mr. Neti Patel, Business Head - Animal Health Products, The Himalaya Drug Company.

Addressing pet owners, Dr. Ritesh Sood, a Veterinarian and Marketing Manager, Himalaya Companion Care said, "There is a misconception among people that dogs need to be brought home when they are puppies to develop an attachment. But that is not true. Adult and senior dogs  easily get attuned to new owners as well. Hence, I urge people to not only look for puppies but also adult and senior dogs while adopting a pet."

About Himalaya Companion Care 'Build a Bond' Initiative:

The stigma around adopting a dog is unfortunate, more so if the dog is an indie. Through our campaign, Build a Bond, we want to sensitize people towards pet adoption, and help find safe and loving homes for abandoned, rescued dogs. Himalaya has passively adopted dogs at CUPA (Compassion Unlimited Plus Action), Bengaluru, India, sponsoring their food, shelter, medicines, and other needs.
