Daikin India 3rd Factory to Augment Turnover Targets for Next 2 Years

Riding on the back of both residential and commercial infrastructural development across India, Daikin India is in the final stages to lock its 3rd manufacturing facility across the southern parts of India. With air-conditioning penetration inching towards a double digit figure, Daikin India is ready to piggy back the 'Make in India' wave to augment its production capabilities from the current capacity of 15 lakh Room ACs, 50,000 VRV units, 1 lakh Cassette units, 20,000 Ductable units and 1,000 Chillers.

Given our intent in making use of India's cost leadership, the 3rd factory would optimize our cost structure and make us more export oriented and efficient. Though the AC penetration in India is still lagging at 6-7%, but the Indian HVAC market is fiercely competitive with home grown companies along with Korean, American, Chinese and Japanese companies fighting for 20,000 CR market.

Japan India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM) at the Daikin India supported Institute, Neemrana, Rajasthan is a result of the collaboration between the Governments of Japan and India to create a pool of skilled manpower for manufacturing in India. By imparting skill education to the youth, Daikin India supported Institute (JIM), Neemrana, Rajasthan supports the Make in India and Skill India initiative of Government of India.

India's greatest need is for an effective cold chain solution that can integrate the supply chains for agricultural commodities from production to consumption centres. Daikin India has recently launched a full line of commercial refrigeration products for all needs. India today is standing at a negative food growth, and commercial refrigeration/cold chains will play a pivotal role in making India food positive. More than 40% of the food/farm produce in India goes waste, Daikin is very keen to step in with cold chain solutions that further help India restore agricultural loses.
