The Vodafone Premier Badminton League took a giant step towards consolidating itself further, with India's leading cement manufacturing company Dalmia Cement joining the family as the owners of the Delhi franchise.

The company, headquartered in New Delhi, is the world's greenest cement company and made its presence felt during the Delhi team's opening match on Monday in Guwahati, with the players sporting their brand on their jerseys.
The franchise has also been rechristened Delhi Dashers to signify the young company's dynamism. Dalmia Cement has been associated with sports through on-ground sponsorship for some time now; this will be their first foray into sports as a team owner.

Delhi Dashers has a formidable line up with World No. 6 Sung Ji Hyun leading the charge in the Women's Singles, World No. 11 and the first leading Chinese player to play in the League, Tian Houwei, along with World No. 15 Wong Ki Wing Vincent taking the lead in the Men's Singles. The experienced Russian Doubles duo of Ivan Sozonov and Ivanov Vladimir take charge of the Men's Doubles attack along with 2010 CWG Gold medalist Ashwini Ponappa, Pranaav Chopra and Arathi Sara Sunil sharing the Mixed Doubles partnership.
The Dashers will be playing their first home match against the Bengaluru Blasters on December 28 at the Siri Fort Indoor Stadium.

The Vodafone Premier Badminton League Season 3, is the world's richest prize money badminton tournament offering a prize of INR 6 Cr.
