ASCENT Foundation, a not-for-profit, peer-to-peer learning platform for entrepreneurs founded by Harsh Mariwala, Chairman, Marico Ltd., today announces the launch of a new ASCENT Chapter on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Crowne Plaza in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The launch aims to introduce ASCENT Foundation and the model of Trust Groups to SMEs and MSMEs based out of Chennai, Erode, Coimbatore, Mahabalipuram and other areas of Tamil Nadu through outreach initiatives and an official launch of its second chapter.

Founded in 2012 in Mumbai, ASCENT is a Trust-based peer network of entrepreneurs that encourages experiential learning based on the concept of power of the collective. Through a common knowledge sharing platform, ASCENT Foundation enables entrepreneurs to identify their blind spots and address common business challenges. The platform emphasises on growth focussed learnings through the Trust Group model and additionally, provides members peripheral access to relevant growth enablers like service providers, investors and banks, industry role models and domain experts.

The launch of the Chennai chapter will see ASCENT Foundation Founder - Harsh Mariwala - commence the event with a keynote speech and share his vision for entrepreneurs through the eyes of ASCENT. The launch will also see thought leaders and industry experts will share the role of peer-to-peer networks in their entrepreneurial journey. Entrepreneurs interested in joining ASCENT will be able to apply for membership at the launch itself. To begin with, ASCENT will aim to start with 50-60 members to form Trust Groups in Chennai.

Focussing on entrepreneurs who have a proven and profitable business, members with annual turnover of Rs. 5 crore and above for a manufacturing/products business and Rs. 1 crore and above for a services business can apply to ASCENT Foundation for membership. The Foundation focusses on business leaders who are able to demonstrate a strong ambition to grow, share a principled sense of business and personal ethics and are willingness to share, collaborate and commit. Shortlisted applications will be called for group interactions and a personal interview. Finalised members will be inducted into 4-5 Trust Groups thus officially commencing the Chennai chapter.
