Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard to host 'Beautiful Bangkok', Thailand's first world-class high-rise 3D projection mapping show, bringing a magical year-end to Ratchaprasong Square

Set to enchant all visitors at Ratchaprasong, Bangkok, Thailand from 14 December, 2017 to New Year's Eve, the 'Beautiful Bangkok by Magnolias @Ratchaprasong' performance is endorsed by Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association (RSTA) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

The highlight of 'Beautiful Bangkok by Magnolias @Ratchaprasong' is Limelight's unique performance, led by Mr. Viktor Vicsek and Mr. Istvan David, whose previous shows have stunned the world and won both The Jury and The People's Choice Awards. This time, they are going to debut in Thailand a masterpiece under the concept 'Beautiful Bangkok' -- a 3D projection mapping performance onto the 60-story tower of Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard - an interpretation of the beauty of Bangkok viewed through their eyes. The artwork will represent the course of 24 hours, providing a 'frame' that links and harmonizes the images, and will begin and finish with sunrise, a metaphor of nature's lifecycle, comprising 4 majors scenes:
SCENE 1 : NATURE
A flower grows from the base to the tip of the building. The layers of petal morph into ripples on a river.
SCENE 2 : SUNRISE
The sun rises. A city wakes, vibrant, busy, colorful, with busy people, roads, markets and construction sites, and with skyscrapers rising from its expanse.
SCENE 3: TRADITIONS
The city's movements transform into a Hanuman mask and images that collapse into vortices.
SCENE 4: NIGHTLIFE
At night, the forms become geometric neon images, symbolizing the city by night. Nightlife awakes and the cityscape slowly turns into a star-studded sky.

'Beautiful Bangkok by Magnolias @Ratchaprasong' will take place from 14-31 December 2017 at 19:00, 19:15, 19:30, 19.45, and 20.00, with an additional New Year's Eve performances at 23.55.

A photography competition is also now open for both amateur and professional photographers to win prizes of up to THB100,000. Contestants should simply send landscape or selfie photos of Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard (MRB) under the theme 'Beautiful Magnolias' and post them with hashtags #beautifulbangkok, #beautifulratchaprasong, #beautifulmagnolias, and #bangkokiconiclandmark in the caption.
