Nature inFocus launches their first production 'Project Tiger'

A celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Project Tiger, the feature-length documentary film reveals the extraordinary untold story of India's audacious mission to save a global icon from extinction

Project Tiger is the largest and longest running wildlife conservation effort in the world. No other country has put in this kind of effort to save a species the way India has. At the end of the day, this is not just the tiger's story. It is also the story of people, those who live in and close to forests, with wildlife around them. They need to be celebrated too, along with the forest department staff who have given it all to save this iconic species and its habitat.

The film features a passionate group of contributors, including Belinda Wright, Emmy award-winning Indian filmmaker and conservationist, and Debbie Banks, a leading big cat conservationist with extensive experience in tackling wildlife crime networks. Bittu Sahgal, one of India's most beloved conservationists and the founder of Sanctuary Nature Foundation adds his insights alongside Dr Rajesh Gopal, Secretary General, Global Tiger Forum; Deep Contractor, Field Director, BRT Tiger Reserve; Dr. K Ullas Karanth, the world's foremost tiger expert; Mahesh Rangarajan, an environmental historian with expertise in British and contemporary India; Valmik Thapar, a charismatic and outspoken figure in tiger conservation; and Sita Jamra, a forest officer with over 15 years of experience on the frontlines of conservation. They dig deep into their experience to throw light on the real cost of conservation in human terms and its impact. Indian Ocean, the pioneering Indian folk fusion rock band, has composed the theme song 'Baagh Aayo' and the entire background score for the film.

The film will be premiered in Bengaluru on 4th Nov 2023 at Marakata, Chamara Vajra, Jayamahal, Bengaluru. The premier will be followed by a live performance by Indian Ocean.
