PEAK Supports the Five Continents Basketball Championship
-- New Referee Shoes Makes First Appearance at Tournament
HONG KONG, Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PEAK, a global strategic partner of FIBA, and an internationally renowned sports brand, will sponsor the official shoes for the five continent (Asia, Eurasia, America, Africa and Oceania) male/female championship and official clothing for the Asia championship.
On August 1, the 27th Men's Basketball championship in Manila, Philippines opened with PEAK-sponsored team Iran, one of the championship favorites, beating Malaysia by 90 points. The other West Asian team, Qatar, will also wear PEAK basketball kits.
In addition, for the following FIBA EuroBasket, Americas Championship, African Championship and Oceania Championship, PEAK is the sponsor of nearly 10 national teams, such as Germany, Montenegro and Australia.
According to FIBA regulations, 32 male national teams from five continents will win the ticket to Spain, host of first Basketball World Cup next year.
Last January, the World Basketball Championship was renamed the Basketball World Cup, which, as announced by Bowman, the FIBA general secretary, is expected to promote basketball and make it one of the best events around the world.
Additionally, the brand-new judge shoes, designed especially for FIBA's international referees by Peak, will make their first appearance at the inter-continental championship. Having integrated the new sports shoes technology of Peak, the shoes have been approved by several international judges after being strictly examined by FIBA's technical teams. Also, several FIBA officially-authorized sports products will also appear at the Five Continents Basketball Championship.
