Plintron, the world's largest multi-country, cloud-based telecom infrastructure for MNO, MVNO and Enterprise, today announced its offering of "Telco on Cloud" services to Somalia's MNO, ASGSM.MOBI. This tie-up between Plintron and ASGSM.MOBI includes a technology stage for hosted end to end mobile core network for ASGSM.MOBI's basic services and international roaming.

ASGSM.MOBI is a mobile network operator, holding a GSM and 3G license in Somalia and operating since 2009.
The technology involves Plintron's own indigenous infrastructure that hosts "Telco" with NSS, BSS, OSS solutions on a cloud platform, which is robust, high on efficiency and is also cost-effective. This works on an offshore managed services business model.
Plintron already has been running its "Telco on a cloud" platform successfully in Europe, USA and Australia.
Somalia's telecom market is fast developing, and is expected to have mobile penetration by end of this year, to about 52% of its population. This African nation is an interesting geography and it is expected to have over 6.1 million mobile subscribers by 2015.
