HAIFA, Israel, Feb. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Efter en period av omfattande tester och verifiering har Elbit Systems revolutionerande terrängföljningssystem (TF/TA) tagits i drift ombord på C-130 Hercules. Systemet har installerats som en del av en omfattande avionikuppgradering och möjliggör att på ett säkert sätt flyga på låg höjd under svåra förhållanden, något som innebär en kraftigt utökad förmåga för plattformen.

Elbits TF/TA-system kombinerar en högupplöst data från en terrängföljande radar med en digital terrängdatabas, och processar data i realtid med hjälp av avancerade algoritmer för att erbjuda en kraftigt ökad manövreringsförmåga. Systemet, som parallellt väger in flygplanets presentande och karaktär, hjälper piloterna att förutse terrängen och ge optimala instruktioner och förutsättningar för att hålla jämn höjd över marken under hela flytningen.

Systemet är anpassat till alla typer av militära transportflygplan och helikoptrar, och kan installeras som en del av en mer omfattande avionikuppgradering eller som ett eget delsystem.
