TEL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Aidoc, leading provider of artificial intelligence solutions for radiologists, today announced it was expanding to meet customer demand in the United States and Europe. The expansion comes after Aidoc's AI-driven radiology triage solution received its first FDA approval last month.

The state-of-the-art deep learning company has appointed Tom Shearer as Aidoc's first North American Director of Sales and Strategy. Tom was previously Chief Operating Officer at Epsilon Imaging. Prior to Epsilon, Tom spent 16 years with Vital Images giving him a deep understanding of the US healthcare diagnostic landscape.

"AI isn't the future for medical imaging; it's the present," commented Shearer. "Aidoc is led by extraordinary individuals who have developed a revolutionary product. This solution is always running in the background, on every exam, filling a critical need in medical imaging by helping radiologists manage their increasing workload while maintaining high standards. I am excited to join such a deeply talented team."

Aidoc's European operation is headed by Sales Manager Jeremy De Sy, a Business Development and Sales professional with experience in various technology-driven sectors. Jeremy joined from Swisslog Healthcare and has strong experience in the medical imaging space from his time at Carestream.

"Aidoc's "always-on AI" is a whole new ball-game," said Jeremy De Sy. "Aidoc's flagging and triage system integrates right into the radiology workflow offering a time-saving solution with a seamless user experience. That makes it very easy for radiology departments to adopt Aidoc right away."

Aidoc's first FDA market approval for detecting intracranial hemorrhage was announced on August 8th, while its head and C-Spine solution received a CE (Conformité Européenne) mark in November. More approvals are expected in the near future, covering other parts of Aidoc's whole-body AI based triage solution which flags and prioritizes cases for radiologists. Aidoc's technology ensures that patients with the most urgent and life-threatening conditions are diagnosed first.

"I am excited to have such strong players join the growing Aidoc team," said Aidoc CEO Elad Walach. "We pride ourselves in our relationship with our customers, so it's imperative that we  expand our team to meet market demand with proven talented professionals."
