ABD Achieves a Landmark Sales of 36 Million Cases in 2015-16

Allied Blenders and Distillers (ABD), one of India's largest and fastest growing spirits company, has registered a growth of 12% over the previous year, resulting in a landmark sales of 36 million cases in 2015-16.

The company's flagship brand Officer's Choice Whisky (OCW) has clocked a sales of 26 million cases in 2015-16, a growth of 11% over the previous year. The brand has cornered a market share of 40% of the regular whisky segment.

ABD's deluxe whisky brand Officer's Choice Blue has recorded a sales of 8 million cases in the period under reference, a growth of 12% over the previous year, a praise-worthy performance for any brand in the fourth year of its launch. The brand is now available across the country.

Officer's Choice Black, the semi-premium brand of ABD, has also recorded a commendable growth of 25% over the previous year.

The company's premium brandy Kyron, launched 3 years ago, has recorded sales of 1.1 lakh cases in 2015-16. Spurred by its success, the brand has now launched in Tamil Nadu. Another brand of the company, Officer's Choice Brandy, available only in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, has crossed sales of 1 million cases in 2015-16. Thus, the company now has 3 'millionaire brands' in its portfolio.

Speaking on the achievements, Mr. Jeetu Hemdev, Executive Director, Allied Blenders and Distillers said, "At a time when the IMFL industry has been experiencing many odds and recorded hardly any growth, it was quite difficult for ABD to register such a landmark number as 36 million in FY'16; It has been possible due to our committed team, who is aware of the ground realities and market logistics. ABD's other brands - Officer's Choice Black, Jolly Roger Rum, Lord & Master Brandy, Class 21 Vodka - have also maintained standards. This growth is more noteworthy at time when the India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) market has grown only by 1% in the last year.

During the period, the company has also earned two prestigious awards. In the Indo-UAE Business Summit & Awards 2015, held in Dubai on 11th-12th December, ABD's Chairman Mr. Kishore Chhabria was recognized as 'The World's Greatest Leaders 2015 - Asia & GCC,' and Officer's Choice was awarded 'The World's Greatest Brands 2015 - Asia & GCC.'
