A World Environment Day Campaign initiated by Siddha Group in association with Kolkata Municipal Corporation
The World Environment Day is a global fête for positive environmental action, coordinated by United Nations Environment Programme every year on June 5th. Siddha Group in association with Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) & Joyjeet Memorial School, Kolkata, a special school catering to the underprivileged children, has initiated an awareness campaign called 'Adopt A Plant, Save life' - to mark the World Environment Day. Mr Debasish Kumar, MMIC, Kolkata Municipal Corporation; Actress Mumtaz Sarkar; Mr. Siddharth Sethia, Joint Managing Director, Siddha Group and young students from Joyjeet Memorial School today flagged off a tableau on wheels at Tridhara Sammilani, Kolkata. The tableau will move around the city from 2nd to 8th June and distribute plants.

Several hoardings has been mounted across the city to spread the message. Moreover, Siddha group would distribute 10,000 plantlets starting 5th June, 2017 from the temporary kiosks stationed at eight parks of Kolkata which are Nature Study Park - Loudon street, Allen Park - Park Street, Desh Bandhu Park - Shyambazar, Harish Mukherjee Park - Harish Mukherjee Road, Auckland Square - Rowdon Street, Tala Jhil Park - Tala, Vivekananda Uddyan - Parnashree, Behala, APC Park - Kankurgachi. Siddha Group has taken many initiatives to make people aware about the necessity of a green and clean environment. Especially, the initiative of planting 50,000 trees has been in full progress across West Bengal during the last three years as a part of Siddha Mission earth.
