AFF Tokyo 2014 to Kick Off in September

OSAKA, Japan, June 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The upcoming AFF Expo is scheduled to be held in the #1 East Showroom at BIG SIGHT Exhibition Hall from September 17 to 19, 2014. The 8,000-square meter event will host 500 booths showcasing a wide range of apparel, accessories, fabrics and home textiles. As Japan's biggest OEM Expo for textiles and clothing, this AFF Expo will be rife with multiple opportunities for development across the textile and clothing sectors and provide a venue for sharing in the excitement with fellow industry players.

AFF (Asia Fashion Fair) Expo, formerly known as CFF Expo, was founded in 2003. The Expo is held once every spring in Osaka and once every autumn in Tokyo, with the event having taken place 21 times to date. Recently the "China plus one" model has evolved from concept to reality, an example being the number of Japanese importers that have turned to textile and clothing from production bases across Asia for their supplies. As a result, the AFF Expo, by attracting an ever greater number of high caliber suppliers every year, is becoming more influential across the industry.

The Spring session of AFF Expo, held in Osaka's MYDOME Exhibition Hall and which concluded on April 17 2014, gathered 307 name manufacturers on 6,000 square meters of exhibition space and saw 5,461 professional buyers pass through the front doors during the 3-day event. According to available attendance records, the highest number of buyers received by a single exhibitor reached 350, with 70% of the buyers having had a meaningful discussion with the exhibitor.
