Alfa Laval India, under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, inaugurated the new building of Samarth Vidya Mandir Madhayamik, School located in Velvand, a remote village about 20 Kms from Bhor, Maharashtra, where the company has built a new building having 7 classrooms and modern toilets for girls and boys. The company has also provided the school with furniture like cupboards, teachers' tables, chairs and LED lightings.

The inauguration was done at the hands of Anantha Padmanabhan, Managing Director, Alfa Laval India and Cluster President for India Middle East and Africa.

This higher secondary school caters to children from marginalized and less privileged backgrounds who live in the radius of 35 Kms of Velvand. This is the only school in the village providing education from VIIth to Xth standrard (High School), but they also cater to children from the neighbouring schools for hostel facility for needy children from Vth standard. The school has had 100% results in Xth standard for the last two consecutive years.
